Best Ways to Relax After Travel
Hello ladies! I recently took a birthday trip to Hawaii and then shortly after traveled to Antigua. I've enjoyed my trips so much, although at the same time it has been exhausting to travel, especially with the trips being back to back. Being intentional about the way I adjust after traveling and choosing self care activities after a long trip has really helped me ease back into my routine and relax after traveling internationally.
In this blog post, I'm sharing how to relax after travel, get self care after travel and overall get back on track with your routines. I hope you enjoy it!

Here are ways I like to get self care after traveling and get back on track with my routine:
Meal Prep
Meal prepping or planning ahead to decide what I will eat makes the entire process much easier.
When meal prepping I tend to go with dishes that are easy to prepare and taste delicious. I have a few key dishes that are my go-to.
Develop a list of dishes that are simple but that you’ll enjoy eating more than once. If it’s not a healthy meal, find opportunities to add plant-based ingredients.
These clear glass food containers are great for meal prepping. I use them for so many meals even when not meal prepping.
I also love these cute pink glass meal prepping containers. So cute and a good way to brighten my day in a very small way.
Move
Staying physically active and working out can energize your body. Start off with a walk or stretch to get your body moving regularly.

Eat Plant Based
Choose to eat plant based foods so that your body is well nourished and energized.
Drink Lots of Water
This is another strategy to help you feel energized and like your best self. Also, it may be nice to in a way cleanse and hydrate your body if you havent been eating/drinking healthily during your trip.
The recommended is different for men and women.
This daily water intake includes the water we get when we consume fresh foods like fruits and vegetables.
Recommended daily water intake amount:
91 ounces - women
125 ounces - men
Drinking lots of water has been a challenge for me, but lately, I’ve been killing it!
To help me with my water intake goals I purchased this cute water gallon bottle with time stamps and motivational messages. It’s an amazon must have!
Schedule Self Care
Set appointments to enjoy your favorite or most needed self care appointments.
Some examples may include scheduling a facial, massage, manicure/pedicure, and so much more.
It could even mean taking yourself on a date or creating quiet time for yourself at home.
Create a Schedule So It’s Easy to Stick To
Once you’ve created a self care routine, schedule out your appointments so that you’re able to just show up and enjoy yourself.
Having a schedule will also help you stay on track more effortlessly and prevent you from getting behind on your self care routine.
Book Your Appointments Before You Return
By scheduling your appointments before you return, it’s one less thing you have to worry about. Also, it will feel like a nice treat to be back and just show up to your appointments.
Keep reading for the next tip which relates to this one:
Prioritize and Spread Appointments Out
Feeling rushed may create anxiety and it’s definitely not a good vibe.
Take your time and give yourself grace by spreading your appointments out. This will give you time to rest and also have extra time for any other obligations like work or family.
I highly recommend spreading the appointments out because it will give you something special to look forward to throughout the week or month.
Also, spreading out your self care activities will reduce the likelihood of you rushing to each appointment rather than being able to enjoy the moment and take your time.
Have Groceries And/or Meals Delivered
Opening your door and grabbing grcoeries/meals that have just been delivered to your door is so next level.
During the months of March and April, I had Hungry Harvest delivered to my house. It was perfect in between my trips to Hawaii and Antigua. I had produce delivered to my home before and after each trip. All I had to do was open my front door. It helped so much when trying to relax and get back on track with eating healthy, delicious plant-based foods.
This particular blog post is not sponsored, although I do have a code for you :)
You can use code ‘WellwithBrielle’ for your next Hungry Harvest purchase.

This was my first and I’m excited to do it again!
Rest and Create Healthy Sleep Habits
I was so tired from traveling.
Even during the actual trips it was essential for me to listen to my body by resting or going to bed early occasionally.
After traveling be sure to rest and not over schedule yourself.
Also, be open to taking naps or going to be early. Research shows that 20 minute naps are ideal to avoid feeling tired when ou wake up, but definitely listen to your body to see what works well for you.
You may even want to schedule time in your day for short naps. Even if you don’t go to sleep it could be relaxing to be quiet and do nothing, but rest.
Take Action
Let’s be real.
Balance is important.
Be clear with yourself and have the discipline to take action when needed.
You’ll know if you’re being lazy or avoiding certain things versus truly being tired after a trip.
I also experienced some laziness and procrastination after being on vacation.
During those moments, I took action and continued to work. Eventually, you’ll get used to being back into your normal routine.
